The Parish of Wiston lies at the foot of the South Downs, a few miles west of Steyning in West Sussex. Recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, it has long been associated with Wiston House, a seventeenth-century country residence and the home of Wilton Park
. The parish covers roughly 1,300 acres of downland, woodland and agricultural land, with a resident population of just over 200 people. Notable buildings include All Saints’ Church, Buncton (a small Norman chapel dating from the eleventh century) and The Meeting Place on Water Lane, which functions as a village hall and is available for hire.
